The Emoji Movie (2017)

In a vibrant digital world inside a smartphone, Gene is an emoji who struggles with his unique ability to express multiple emotions, unlike the other emojis who each have a single, fixed expression. Living in Textopolis, the app where emojis await to be chosen by the phone’s user, Gene feels out of place and dreams of becoming a normal, single-expression emoji to fit in and be accepted by his peers.

Determined to change himself, Gene embarks on a journey through various apps on the phone, including Candy Crush and Just Dance, accompanied by his friends Hi-5 and Jailbreak. Along the way, they encounter different characters and face challenges that test Gene’s resolve and highlight the complexities of the emoji world. Their quest not only takes them through colorful and bustling digital landscapes but also puts the system of the smartphone at risk as Gene aims to find his true identity.
