In a world where children rely on digitally connected robots called B*Bots for friendship and social connection, an 11-year-old boy named Barney discovers that his new B*Bot, Ron, is malfunctioning and unlike any other. Unlike the perfectly programmed devices his classmates have, Ron behaves unpredictably, often causing chaos and confusion. Barney struggles to navigate school and social life while trying to fix Ron and help him fit in with the other kids’ B*Bots.
Barney and Ron’s journey takes them beyond the classroom and into the wider cityscape, where technology giants and corporate interests loom large. As Barney attempts to understand what makes Ron different, he encounters challenges that test his patience and resilience. Along the way, the friendship between the boy and his faulty robot begins to reveal unexpected possibilities, highlighting how imperfect connections can lead to meaningful bonds.
